Documbersome to say the least...
I saw this ... documentary when it opened. It's one of the worst movies, docu or otherwise, I've ever seen.
It consists of a series of episodes which begin with a quote of someone explaining the Mayan calendar. The quotes have nothing whatsoever to do with the episode in question. Camera-work is unbelievably bad, story nonexistent, director isn't quite up to his job and neither is whoever cut this flick.
For example, in one episode the narrator explains how Indians still give offerings to ancient gods, nowadays giving for example Coca-Cola. Then there's a cut to a group of Indians waiting around a pit on the ground, and you can almost hear "ACTION!" as they suddenly start to pour Cola in the pit... it's quite easy to imagine them receiving instructions "Now please act as you were giving an offering.".
If I could I would've given this a negative grade. Sometimes when someone tries too hard, you can have accidental fun and an unexpected cult classic. This one doesn't even succeed in that.
