Isn't it funny how the seemingly simple games are also the hardest to beat?
"Asteroids" has the most basic of premises: you pilot a small craft that has to blow up all of the asteroids in your path before they crash into you. Use your thrusters only when you have to, though, and watch out for the other ships that will blast at you without warning!
Created with simple white lines on a black background, nothing beats this one for plain, simple blow-em-up fun. Not a lot of violence; just things going boom the way we '80s refugees remember them.
I knew a guy in high school that got all the high scores on "Asteroids" at the arcade - now he's a college professor.
Moral: be smart, play "Asteroids"!
Ten stars. Thank you, Atari!
