Shmoo on you!
18 March 2004 | by (fabulous Las Vega$!) – See all my reviews

This was, without question, the most unexpected cartoon series of all time. Fred and Barney had been out to pasture since "The Flintstones", but their nadir was to come when some genius decided to parter them with a long-forgotten peripheral character from the "Lil' Abner" comics of the late 40s/early 50's...this strangely phallic entity called a "Shmoo". What exactly a Shmoo *IS* has been a topic of debate for decades...a bowling pin with legs and whiskers? A walking bartlett pear? Nobody knows for certain, but the bigger mystery is how it ended up in the stone age and chumming about with the Flintstones.

Ill-conceived, flatly animated series exemplary of how badly Saturday morning fare had run out of steam during the 70s.
