Violence & Gore

7/10

The movie is about a videotape that kills people seven days after they watch it. The tape itself is seen several times and features many disturbing images; dead horses are seen, a woman jumps off of a cliff, a finger is graphically impaled on a nail, severed fingers twitch in a box, a blood covered floor, a long piece of rope being pulled out of someones throat, a huge crawling centipede, and other disturbing and surreal images.

A man wraps himself in electrical cords, stands in a bath and flips a switch, electrocuting himself. He thrashes violently and there is blood in the water. A woman sees this and screams. Fairly graphic and disturbing.

A man falls into a cabinet, breaking glass ornaments. He falls onto the broken glass, cutting himself and leaving bloody marks on the floor.

In the director's cut, you see a girl in the corner of a closet with a demented and horrifying face.

You see a man that has his face ripped apart.

Profanity

4/10

One use of "fuck", although it is very difficult to hear and is easily missed. Several uses of "shit," goddamn" and other milder language.

Some hand gestures in a deleted scene.

Blasphemous exclamation "Christ" is made at least twice.

4/10

People smoke cigarettes. A woman briefly mentions 'getting high'.

A teenager tells her friend to ask her mom where she keeps the Vicodin.

In one scene, a man is seen buying cigarettes/drugs and the woman who sells it says that he "will die"

8/10 frightening and intense, but even more so depressing and extremely disturbing, even for a horror movie.

The film is very intense and frightening. The entire movie revolves around a videotape that kills the people who watch it.

A TV turns on by itself, showing an image of a well. A young girl crawls out of the well, and then out of the TV. A man in the room panic and tries to escape, however he falls and is injured. He is later seen dead; a very brief image of his mutilated face is seen.

A teenage girl enters a room where a TV has turned on by itself. An image of a well appears and the girl looks terrified. We later here that she died; a very brief shot shows her in a closet with a twisted, mutilated face.

Overall, the movie features some strong scenes of horror and several disturbing images.

26/50 I saw this movie when I was 11 and had no problem with it, but I think most kids aged 12/13+ should be good
