The basic premise of the story is interesting, albeit original. "Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt" is a drama that deals with mobbing in its most sadistic way and focuses on the feelings of the victim. Unfortunately, both victim and perpetrators are sketched rather two-dimensional and clichéd.Even worse, "bad guy" and "nice guy" "exchange" roles in the middle of the movie for reasons of plot construction without sufficient explanation, thus adding to the confusion and disorientation of the watcher. The ending is, like most of the plot points, predictable and extremely unoriginal.The everyday life of a cop is shown in a very realistic way, and some of the acting is good. But the script does not use its potential to its full degree at all.
