Storyline

James wants to have fun, but cynically realizes that life has little fun to offer. Turning nineteen has been a souring experience filled with disappointments. The added pressures of manhood have begun to weigh in as friends become scarce. He needs a good night out and his only hope lies with his best friend Russell, whose own world was perfect until his girlfriend, Jennifer, announced that she was "going out with some other guy" that night. The two nineteen-year-old men simply want to forget their individual problems over a few beers and set out into the underage world where strange things happen. Bad directions, bad luck, and teenage-harassing cops stand in the way of these two slackers as they hopelessly meander through the streets of Austin, Texas trying to buy a case of beer. Their patience and worries are pushed to the limit until they are forced to do the unthinkable. Written by Anonymous

no money doesn't mean no funny
30 August 2006 | by (Orlando, Florida) – See all my reviews

Wrong Numbers is a low budget movie that I saw at the Austin Film Festival back in the day and I connected with it so much that I still think of it even though I only saw it twice. I always respect creativity under time and budget constraints and this movie is an excellent example of working with what you have. Not a lot of money, but heart and humor are something this movie has in spades. Also there is a strange character that convinces the heroes about how cops can be outmatched by tying their butt hairs together. What a gut busting hilarious scene, god I was dying. You really must see this movie for yourself, especially if you live in Austin. Go to I Love Video or Vulcan video and you can rent it there or maybe you can buy it somewhere. I know I will when I'm back in Texas.
