Dávila's ex-wife has sclerosis and his son arrives at the hospital with her. Elisa, who didn't know about the disease, notices that there are many things about Dávila that she ignores. Laura and Andrea's relationship gets even worse; they don't understand each other and this cause problems with their patients. Alejandro remembers what happened and Vilches asks Cristina to help him; she recommends family therapy. Rosa goes to the hospital to thank Fran for his behaviour towards Toño. The nurses are worried because some of their partners have been fired; Elisa tells Santiago about it.

Rusti suspects that Queca will be fired and wonders whether or not he should tell her; the couple also has bedroom problems. Later, Rusti confesses to his girlfriend his infidelity with Esther. Luara makes a serious mistake with a patient, which provokes new problems with Andrea, who doubts Laura's professional capacity. Javier tells Andrea about the possibility of a change of resident, but the pediatrician thinks that Laura must concentrate more on her own work. Dávila clarifies to Elisa that he didn't leave his ex-wife because she was ill; he made the decision first. Vilches finally goes to family therapy with Alejandro. Esther proposes to strike to protest on behalf of the ones who are being fired. Aimé suffers a rapt and Fran continues to date Rosa.

Most of the nurses in the hospital are on strike and Elisa is exhausted, which causes many problems in the hospital. Queca is depressed and her father talks with Rusti to solve this, although he doesn't know about Rusti's infidelity with Esther. Eva's ex-partner visits the hospital to make an analysis of fertility, while Rosa and Fran organize a conference about first-aid care for the gypsy children. There are the first dismissals of doctors that have been in the hospital for less than a year and Andrea is worried because she is in this case. Vilches continues his treatment with the psychiatrist, and the case of a teacher who hit a pupil makes him remember a past experience with Alejandro.

Andrea is pregnant but has decided not to continue with her pregnancy; however, she changes her mind at the last moment. Vilches organizes a hospital visit for Alejandro and his classmates. An information expert who is making a study in the hospital discovers that Teresa's son, who spends all day on his computer, is an extraordinary programmer. Dávila doesn't feel well and tests reveal that something is wrong. Nacho is preparing a party for Fran with Diego and Eva, but the nurse feels jealous when she knows that Rosa is also invited.

Aimé and Cristina are worried about their respective children: Hugo isn't going to his Maths class; and Nuria's babysitter hasn't been waiting for her after school. Rosa and Fran are in the disco together and her family recriminates the SAMUR doctor because they don't want him to go out with their girl. An obese patient wakes up in the middle of the operation and hears Andrea making an offensive commentary about his weight. Dávila doesn't tell Elisa that he was operated on because he has a tumor. Rusti goes on TV to apologize to Queca for the infidelity; she forgives him, and Esther is very jealous. Laura feels crushed by Andrea and believes that Javier doesn't give importance to her problem. Vilches notices that the pediatrician is very strange, but she doesn't want to tell him what happens. Eva doesn't want Fran to know that she and Nacho were together.

Andrea and Laura must face a death committee for the patient they lost the week before; Andrea recognizes before the committee that Laura thinks she has humiliated her during the last months. Fran told Rosa to wait some time before meeting him again, but he misses her and waits in vain for a phone call. Dávila keeps making jokes before the operation on his tumor, while Elisa is very worried about it. Aimé's brother's boyfriend, who is HIV-positive, suffers a psychotic attack and is brought to the hospital, where Aimé and Juanjo see each other for the first time in many months. Vilches attends to a childbirth with complications in which the mother dies, which reminds him of his wife dying after giving birth to Alejandro. Andrea decides to leave the hospital and raise her child alone; Vilches tries to convince her that they should raise their child together, but she is sure about her decision.

Cristina notices that something strange is happening at the hospital: some patients' histories have disappeared. Laura is not at her best; she spies on Andrea everywhere, and Javier suffers the consequences of her change in character. Later, he gains success with her while saving the life of a woman using his skills that Laura only witnessed in the U.S. the previous year, and she apologizes to him. Vilches is very hard on a student who practices at the hospital, but she likes him and kisses the doctor, who rebuffs her though he feels attracted to her. Queca is very worried about her wedding, because the invitations have mistakes and everything seems to be going wrong, but Rusti makes her see that the important thing is that they are together. When Dávila appears to be recovering, the oncologist finds out that he has another cancer. The doctor make jokes in order to face what is happening, but Elisa doesn't like his attitude, but later she realizes that it's the best way he could face it, and she tells him that his sense of humor is one of his most endearing qualities. Rosa splits with Fran because their relationship is causing her many problems in her gypsy community, while Eva continues her engagement with Nacho. As Elisa pays almost all her attention to Dávila, Esther temporarily assumes the post of nurses' boss. One of Teresa's children has failed five subjects and she is very angry, but after a tragedy in the hospital--an entire family dies in an accident--she can only embrace her son. Aimé's brother has AIDS and his ex-partner is dying of it. Aimé distrusts Nuria's babysitter and puts a camera in his house to watch her behavior with his girl.

Sofía, an Argentinian woman whom Héctor met at a party, comes to the hospital with the elderly woman she tends. Queca is angry because many of her co-workers didn't come to her wedding, but Rusti justifies them; later they all present them with a trip to the Nile. Dávila faints while playing golf and Elisa and the oncologist try to make him see that with chemotherapy he can't do the same things as before. Cristina and Santiago continue to investigate some irregularities with Los Abedules clinic, and they make some disturbing discoveries. Rusti recommends Javier a cheaper mechanic to fix his car, but Laura considers that it is still too expensive; Javier finds confronting his humble new life difficult. Fran continuously asks Eva about Nacho and she is not comfortable about it. The doctor already thinks his brother is immature, but the nurse doesn't agree. Aimé's brother-in-law is dying, and the situation reminds Aimé's brother of their dad's death. As Elisa needs more time to be with Dávila, Esther is temporally the new boss of nurses. Diego has bladder stones, which the doctors first diagnose as indigestion. Vilches has a meeting with an attractive patient who turns out to be a prostitute; before, he had refused to discuss with the psychologist his relationships with women after Andrea's goodbye.

Dávila's health is very complicated and Esther substitutes Elisa as boss of nurses because she wants to spend more time with him. Santiago continues to investigate Los Abedules and Prada offers him money to be quiet and not continue. Laura and Javier have an argument because his mother mentioned the possibility of a wedding between them. Vilches and Fran must make a report together, but they don't agree. Sofía asks Héctor to marry him so she can continue to live in Spain.

A driver who transports a dangerous substance in his vehicle has an accident and contaminates the hospital. Many people die, and Rusti is also affected. Javier becomes jealous because Laura went out with Eva and some other friends without him. Héctor marries Sofía so she can continue to live in Spain. Cristina receives an important quantity of money and suspects that Prada is behind it, and makes sure that Santiago knows about it. Dávila is worse and Elisa is continually by his bedside. Esther is a really good temporary replacement as head nurse and Aimé notices it.

Dávila's health worsens and his condition is worrying; the doctor tells Elisa that he could die, and she finds refuge in her work. Cristina and Laura think that a woman who stabbed her husband could be psychologically ill-treated and want to investigate, but Aimé doesn't agree. Fran and Eva plan to go to a concert together, but she feels guilty because she hasn't yet split from Nacho. Cristina, already having a tense relationship with Santiago, then starts to receive threats.

Vilches continues to go to the psychiatrist, trying to get over his issues with trusting women. Laura stays in Eva's home after her split with Javiet. Santiago reveals what happened with Prada in a newspaper interview, then resigns as hospital director. Cristina is in the hospital and must take a few months off work. Sofía confesses to Héctor that she is in a relationship with a married man.

The media phones constantly asking for Santiago, who has left the hospital. The new director hasn't been decided upon and the hospital is working with many difficulties. Fran doesn't want his relationship with Eva to be public, but Eva doesn't agree and wants to tell Nacho. Later, Nacho tells Eva that he got a job in Barcelona and suggests that she go there with him and they live together. Leonor, Javier's ex-girlfriend who was a nurse at Central until she left when they broke up, is spending a few days in Madrid and visits the hospital, awakening Laura's jealousy. Cruz and Vilches have their first argument as doctor and boss of the operating rooms. Queca announces to Rusti that they are expecting their first child.

Queca, who is pregnant, is very worried about her baby after she attends the birth of a Down-syndrome baby. Nacho is at the hospital but doesn't want to talk with Fran and Eva. Meanwhile, Esther and Elisa argue all the time, but Laura and Javier's relationship couldn't be better and they want to live together again.
