competition to death
gerard-morin from France
8 December 2006
It's a classical story of mountaineers. Two rope parties are competing
for a famous impassable face. All along the difficulties they are
facing, characters are refined, even sharpened. When exhaustion and
death occur, the two parties merge and the new group try to escape to
death. It's really difficult to decide to give up when you're an
climber. The "grand finale" is emotionally imposing. Impossible to not
have a lump in your throat!
The cast is terrific: Marie-Josée Neuville, Guy Marchand, Sami Frey,
Edward Meek... Marie-José Neuville is particularly impressive.
