my reactions of watching that; " pbs " showing; under, " great performances"
for myself, I only have a home-recorded video as shown on boston's, " wgbh" public-television showing in 1994. i would like to purchase a DVD or VHS-tape of this remarkable insight, as to how recordings are made. for me it never grows old to watch those performers as they do, rehearsal-takes, followed by the stars actually performing, final audio cuts while inside , the- isolation-booths. this is one experience i really treasure, and do-believe, other folk's may feel the same. just watching those orchestra musicians marking their score-copies for dynamic-expression as suggested by the conductor, gave much insight as to how we listeners get the end-result in wonderful playback enjoyment. perhaps each time we hear good readings from our purchased recordings, it all came about only after careful, studio retakes, and suggested changes, to enhance the intended reading those discerning ears can only provide after heartfelt discussions as the session proceeds.
