Storyline

Jane Wyman and Ronald Reagan are commiserating about their respective golf games and what they perhaps are doing wrong. Ronny hopes to get some pointers from the world record holder for the longest drive, Jimmy Thomson, who is more than happy to show Ronny some of the basics in correcting both his hook and his slice, how to hit out of the rough and a sand trap properly, and how to do a short chip shot. Meanwhile, Jane gets some lessons of her own from Jack Redmond, who shows her how to impress Ronny by doing some trick maneuvers. Written by Huggo

Quotes

Jane Wyman: You know, all golf is a matter of perfect form.
Ronald Reagan: [ogling her] That all? You're doin' all right then, aren't yuh?
Jane Wyman: No, seriously, Ronnie, maybe your stance isn't correct or maybe you bend your elbows too much.
Ronald Reagan: I haven't had a drink since last New Year's.

Wyman and Reagan in a Warner short subject on golf...
13 February 2008 | by (U.S.A.) – See all my reviews

Not being a golf enthusiast, I can only say this one is a real yawner with RONALD REAGAN and JANE WYMAN (then happily married) getting golf tips from professionals Jimmy Thompson and Jack Redmond, showing them how to make long drives and trick shots, respectively.

Photographed in color, it shows Reagan and Wyman looking healthy and sporting California tans but other than whatever interest fans might have in gaping at them on the golf course, there's nothing special here to keep the interest from waning.

Definitely a short subject that must have bored a lot of theater fans back in '42. Uninspired.
