Beaux and Errors (1938)
To make Edgar do something about his physical condition, his wife has invited her old boy friend, in tip-top shape, to spend the weekend with them. Vivian has noticed that EDgar has let his appearance go and he's terribly out of shape. Her interfering father suggests that Edgar invite her old boyfriend over for the weekend because he's in even worse shape. True to form, his father-in-law invites the wrong old boyfriend and Edgar fears he may be losing his wife to her old flame.
