Storyline

In Tekkaman the Space Knight, mankind had explored the solar system by 2037, when the cruel interstellar Waldarians came blasting their way to Earth. Dr. Edward Richardson, head of the World Science Center, quickly altered his experimental one-man space exploration suit made of indestructible "Tekka" metal, and transformed it into battle armor. He chose young Barry Gallagher to wear this armor as Tekkaman the Space Knight, a costumed superhero to beat back the Waldarians and their pompous Commander Randrox. Barry soon became the leader of a team which consisted of himself; Patricia Richardson, the Professor's daughter who co-piloted the transport Tekka Shuttle; Pegus, the large robot which held the Tekka Armor when Barry wasn't wearing it; Andro, a humanoid ally with psychic and teleportation abilities from a world also fighting the Waldarians; and Mutan, an intelligent little animal from Andro's world who uses her ESP powers to aid them. Trivia

Producer William Winckler did very little rewriting and editing of violent content for the U.S. version. He remained fairly faithful to the original Japanese material, which was very unusual for the time period on U.S. kids TV. See more »
