Lucy Walker: on that bombshell

A new documentary, Countdown to Zero, highlights the many reasons why nuclear annihilation remains our biggest threat

We never loved the bomb, but we did at least learn to stop worrying about it. According to new documentary Countdown to Zero, though, we shouldn't have. As Lucy Walker's film details, there's even more to worry about today: terrorists seeking to acquire nuclear materials, former Soviet countries trying to sell them, nuclear stockpiles, the club of nuclear-capable countries expanding to include states such as North Korea, Iran and Pakistan. Countdown to Zero has been described as the Inconvenient Truth of nukes, though judging by its terrifying revelations, our species is destined to destroy itself by nuclear means long before climate change gets a chance.

"Unfortunately, there's nothing I learned making this film that made me less worried," says Walker. Like most British children of the 1980s, she remembers what it was »

Top Model Lucy Pinder Joins Cast Of Strippers Vs. Werewolves

Source: FilmShaft - Top Model Lucy Pinder Joins Cast Of Strippers Vs. Werewolves

Genre mash ups are fun and ages old. Abbott and Costello met an abundance of ghouls, Old Mother Reilly ran into the likes of Count Dracula and once upon a time some chopper chicks rode into Zombietown. Now Jonathan Glendenning's latest film sees Strippers Vs. Werewolves. Sounds like great trashy horror comedy fun!

The British horror film sees top lad's mag model Lucy Pinder take up her debut role. Will she be playing a werewolf or a stripper?

Nope. She's playing a vampire bride, so you can stop those stripper jokes right now! The very lovely and beautiful Miss Pinder is clearly excited by the role, saying:

"I'm delighted to be making my feature film debut for Black & Blue Films in Strippers Vs Werewolves - it's a really funny part and a hilarious script and I can't wait to start. »
