Good show overall, but Austin does not make a good villain.
1 March 2002 | by (Los Angeles, California) – See all my reviews

Last year's Summerslam was a good show, most the matches were better than previous WWF PPV's. Only one complaint, Stone Cold Steve Austin does not make a very good "heel" and the championship match suffered a little from that fact. The fans for so many years have seen Austin as the "anti-authority" ass kicking Stone Cold, that they have come to know and love, so when he turned into a "heel" it did not make any sense (the storylines never effectively told just why Austin was all the sudden a bad guy for.)which is the main reason I believe that the WWF decided to make him a fan favorite again, shortly after the Alliance storyline played itself out. Having said that, this PPV was one of the best of 2001 and deserves to be looked at by any wrestling fan.
