Mohanlal as Mamootty in a truly weird film about a dead body .....
24 February 2016 | by (India) – See all my reviews

A review addressed to the people who might have plans to watch this rubbish on Youtube:

This film is awful. I am not sure why it has a 7.4 rating on IMDb. Avoid it like the plague.

The title sequence has the Muslim call to prayer followed by "Kausalya Suprabhatham". The film is a weepy thriller, so it is not the sort of film where one would expect this message of religious solidarity at the beginning itself. Was it included as an afterthought? Who knows.

The plot is inane - it is about this eve teaser (played by Sathaar) who seduces women. His dead body turns up at the house of a woman whom he teases regularly. The husband and wife struggle to dispose the body but then Lalettan (who plays a devout Muslim called Mamootty!) turns up from nowhere. He reveals his sob story, there is an unnecessary flashback after which he offers to help dispose the body.

There are a lot of the token slapsticky characters played by Shankaradi, Jagathi, Philomena etc.

I do not know what the director and scriptwriter were thinking. It felt like they wrote a lot of the script on the sets itself. The dialogs and background score are awful. I cannot believe Mohanlal and Nedumudi Venu agreed to act in this. Were they short of cash or something?

I repeat. Avoid this film like the plague.

Best Regards, Pimpin.

Ps: A bottle of brandy cost Rs.30 back then and there were no queues in front of liquor stores.
