Supergirl Ep on That Finale Cliffhanger, James and Kara's Future, Hopes for Season 2: 'We've Heard Positive Things'

18 April 2016 5:57 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Warning: The following post contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of Supergirl.

Your move, Les Moonves.

The producers of Supergirl made an excellent case for renewal to the CBS CEO, with a Season 1 finale on Monday that ended on a massive cliffhanger: Who — or what — is in that pod?

Let’s back up a bit, and briefly recap what went down in the season ender: After successfully releasing National City from the grip of Myriad’s brainwashing, Kara was tasked with her toughest missions yet — finding and destroying Non and Indigo to stop them from killing the human population (check! »

Supergirl Recap: Sister Act

11 April 2016 7:01 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

You could put Supergirl under the Black Mercy’s spell a dozen times, or pump her full of Red Kryptonite, and you still wouldn’t wind up in an alternate universe where she willingly works alongside Cat Grant and Maxwell Lord.

But desperate times call for desperate measures, as seen in the CBS drama’s penultimate Season 1 episode. With most of National City succumbing to Non’s new initiative, Kara faces a whole — forgive me — myriad of problems in Monday’s installment, forcing her to align with Max and Cat, the only two denizens who aren’t affected by the signal. »

Supergirl Finale Photos: Alex and Hank Return (And So Does Eliza Danvers)

4 April 2016 3:06 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Supergirl‘s got the week off from protecting National City and its denizens, but to tide you over until the CBS drama’s return, we’ve got a fresh batch of photos from its Season 1 finale.

There’s a whole lot to unpack from the April 18 snapshots, most notably the return of Alex and Hank from their fugitive lifestyle. Onetime Supergirl Helen Slater is also back as Kara’s adoptive mom, Eliza (though there’s currently no sign of Dean Cain as her maybe-alive dad, Jeremiah).

‘Supergirl’ and ‘Flash’ Bosses Talk Crossover Repercussions and What Happened to James

28 March 2016 6:01 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoiler warning: Do not read on unless you’ve seen “The Flash” crossover episode of “Supergirl,” which took place during Season 1, Episode 18, titled “Worlds Finest.”

Supergirl” and “The Flash” just pulled off the first inter-network crossover in recent memory, allowing Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) to win back the trust of National City and make a new friend in Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), before the Scarlet Speedster raced back to his own universe over on The CW. But while Barry has to focus on Zoom, who is plaguing both Earth-1 and Earth-2, Kara will have to contend with the mysterious Myriad, which seems to have turned James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) and every other human in her city into mindless drones.

Below, “Flash” and “Supergirl” executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg break down the crossover’s twists and preview what’s ahead for Kara in the final two episodes of “Supergirl’s” freshman season. »

Supergirl's Manhunter episode explores Hank Henshaw's origin story without shying away from the show's political agenda...

This review contains spoilers

1.17: Manhunter

If there's anything that Supergirl has focused on more than depicting women's place in the world, it's the outsider story. More specifically, the struggle of the immigrant and the attitudes they tend to attract. It's a bold move for a new show in 2016, and Manhunter is the most frank discussion of it so far.

The episode clearly refers to J'onn and his position at the Deo now that his real identity has been revealed, but we also get another glimpse into what Kara's early experiences on Earth were. When we met her at the beginning of the season, she was unwilling to help for narrative reasons, but it never made total sense from a character perspective. Why would someone so good-natured and brave take »

Supergirl Recap: I'm Startin' With the Martian Manhunter in the Mirror

21 March 2016 7:28 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Monday’s episode of Supergirl brought us one week closer to The Flash’s arrival in National City. But until Grant Gustin’s masked hero makes his appearance, we’ll have to settle for a whole slew of flashbacks. (Eh? See what I did there?)

Fortunately, the CBS drama’s latest installment was chock full of blasts from the past, which revealed a whole lot about its core characters. (Are any of us surprised that Winn had a super-dorky hairstyle two years ago? The matted-down look does not become you, Mr. Schott Jr.)

New Supergirl Clip Places Deo Under Microscope

18 March 2016 9:40 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

CBS has released the first clip from this coming Monday’s brand new episode of Supergirl, which bears the exciting title of “Manhunter.”

This installment looks to be the culmination of everything that has been brewing with Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onzz/The Martian Manhunter since the start of the series and is one that I personally can’t wait to see.

In the clip, Lucy Lane leads a Marine Corps inquisition putting the Deo under investigation, much to the chagrin of Supergirl and her sister, Alex Danvers. This scrutiny is a result of Martian Manhunter being forced to publicly reveal himself following Kara’s going berserk thanks to Red Kryptonite exposure in the most recent episode, “Falling.”

Although the military has every right to be suspicious of an alien they truly know nothing about, part of me wonders if Lucy has some animosity toward Supergirl, seeing as how »

First Look Promo For Supergirl Season 1, Episode 17 Released

15 March 2016 8:18 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Following last night’s action-packed episode of Supergirl, CBS has released a first look at what’s to come in next week’s instalment. Despite the biggest hook being getting to see what happened to Kara’s adoptive father on the day Martian Manhunter took Hank Henshaw’s place though, this promo doesn’t really touch on that.

It does, however, give us an idea of what to expect from what will be happening in present day National City. For more details on this episode of Supergirl, here’s the synopsis for “Manhunter”:

J’onn J’onzz reveals the details of meeting Kara and Alex’s father, Dr. Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain), and assuming Hank Henshaw’s identity. Also, Kara debates trusting someone new with her secret identity and Siobhan (Italia Ricci) plots against Kara, on Supergirl, Monday, March 21st on CBS.

Dean Cain Returns To Supergirl In Description For “Manhunter”

7 March 2016 2:26 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

When the pilot episode of Supergirl revealed that Hank Henshaw was hiding something from the hero, the majority of fans guessed that the character would secretly be revealed as a cyborg similar to his comic book counterpart. However, it’s fair to say than no one saw the reveal that he’s really Martian Manhunter coming.

We learned recently that J’onn took on that persona following the death of the real Hank along with Alex and Kara’s father, but “Manhunter” will reveal the full story of what really happened.

J’onn J’onzz reveals the details of meeting Kara and Alex’s father, Dr. Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain), and assuming Hank Henshaw’s identity. Supergirl: Dean Cain Returns In "Manhunter"; Eddie McClintock Debuts As 'Guardian'

Not only will the "Manhunter" Episode of Supergirl feature J'onn J'onzz filling Kara in on how he came in contact with Jeremiah Danvers (the returning Dean Cain), but from the synopsis below it sounds like we'll be meeting a small screen take on DC street level vigilante, Guardian - or at least, his alter ego, James "Jim" Harper. This character was a cop in the comics, but the Col. in front of his name suggests he'll be a military man on the show.
