Although it may be a short film, DragonStrike is still an excellent tale of good versus evil in a world of magic and dragons.
The plot itself is very well constructed. It deals with an evil wizard named Teraptus, who has a dwarf create a sunstone that invokes a great darkness over the land. A wizard who has escaped Teraptus' castle then meets up with King Halvor the Second and informs him of Teraptus' evil ways. A party is formed consisting of the wizard, a thief, a warrior, and an elf by the name of Greenthorn. They are to travel to Teraptus' castle and "drive a stake through his heart!"
The acting in the film is ingenious, but the dialogue is the true gem. Alan Blumenfeld as King Halvor II is quite possibly one of his best roles. There are numerous quotes in the film that you will remember for a lifetime, and I'm not lying. Lines such as "Stop your petty human bickering! Our cause will serve the good of nature" and "Can you not see the darkness, the unholy darkness that engulfs this land? It is created by a sunstone and comes from the castle of Teraptus." There are many humourous quotes as well that are well placed and well timed.
I would recommend DragonStrike to all of those who enjoy dungeons and dragons related films; but, remember to watch it with a friend so that you two can share the dialouge in unwelcomed situations during conversations with others. DragonStrike could be your very own little inside joke!
