Endearingly sincere junk., 24 February 2008
5/10
Author: Scott LeBrun from Winnipeg, Canada

When will scientists ever learn? The bozos in this movie have created a new species of genetically enhanced scorpions. One of their own has gotten greedy, and he attempts to pilfer them for himself, only for them to escape and grow to massive size. As some of the passengers and crew get picked off, the folks that are left have to fight to kill the rampaging arachnids and land the plane, which has of course been damaged during the fracas.

With an absurd script full of impossible-to-believe lines, a ready and willing (if not exactly bursting with talent) no-name cast, and low, low grade special effects, "Tail Sting" is exactly the kind of thing you enjoy for all the wrong reasons. One particular moment has a scorpion conked on the head with a laptop. That's what we're dealing with here.

There's really nothing that I can say that hasn't already been said very well, but "Tail Sting" is an inept and likably silly hoot of a movie that starts out bad and maintains the level of badness from beginning to end. Anyone who likes to seek out low-budget, space-filling crud like this is in for something truly, enjoyably laughable. Just gather the friends, get out the beers, and have a blast watching it.
