Trivia
Prior to the Invasion storyline, the July PPV event was titled Fully Loaded, which would help build story lines until SummerSlam. However, as a result of the ongoing Invasion storyline, which would have seen a resurgent WCW and/or ECW promotions under the auspices of WWF should it be a success, the July PPV was renamed Invasion by Linda McMahon, with the idea that every match on the card would have WWF wrestlers take on members of the WCW/ECW Alliance.

I'm assuming this is the WWF Invasion ppv that took place in July 2001, it only says Invasion and nothing else. Anyways Vince McMahon purchased the falling WCW back in March of 2001 and they carried out a storyline that Shane bought WCW to eventually compete with the WWF and his dad Vince Mcmahon. Every week for a couple of months a WCW wrestler would run in an attack a WWF wrestler, eventually they had WCW matches on WWF television but the fans were really booing so they introduced the reformation of ECW into the mix, so now it's Shane & Stephanie owning ECW & WCW which is now called the Alliance against Vince McMahon's WWF. All of this lead to the big historical Invasion pay per view, 10 matches to see which group was stronger. Match 1 is Edge & Christian vs Mike Awesome & Lance Storm, which was a pretty good match to open up a good ppv. Match 2 is Earl Hebner vs Nick Patrick, this match was terrible and stupid however Mick Foley was the ref so that was cool. Match 3 is Acolytes vs Palumbo & O'Haire which was ok but nothing great. Match 4 is Kidman vs X-Pac which was pretty good, Kidman hits a great shooting star press in this match. Match 5 is Raven vs William Regal which had some boring chants going, awful match it was just thrown together for some reason. Match 6 was another match thrown together but not a bad one as Kanyon, Stasiak, and & Hugh Morrus took on the Big Show, Billy Gunn & Albert. Match 7 is Tajiri vs Tazz, th ese guys weren't given much time but they sure made a good match out of the time they had. Match 8 is RVD in his big WWF ppv debut against Jeff Hardy, this is the match of the night Rob Van Dam is the most incredibly exciting wrestler to ever step foot in the squared circle this is a classic match! Match 9 is Lita & Trish vs Stacy & Torrie Wilson in a bra and panties match, not a good match but very hot! and the main event was a big 10 man tag as Jericho, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, and Kane took on Rhyno, Dudley Boys, DDP, and Booker T. Stone Cold turns on team WWF and joins the Alliance. Overall this was a good ppv and a histocal event!
