Storyline

Several months have passed since The X-Men defeated Magneto and imprisoned him in a seemingly impregnable plastic chamber. One day, a mutant by the name of Nightcrawler infiltrates the White House and attempts to assassinate the president, setting off a chain reaction of anti-mutant measures by the government. Meanwhile, Logan is trying to discover his past. As scientist named William Stryker discovers Professor X's secret school and Cerebro, Magneto's partner, Mystique, is planning to break her leader out of prison. But when Professor X's school is attacked by Stryker's forces, Logan, Rogue, Iceman and a few are lucky to escape. Those who remain meet in Boston, where they form an uneasy alliance with Magneto to stop Stryker and rescue Professor X.

When visiting the Museum of Natural History, the X-men students are told that the Homo neanderthalensis did not go extinct, but crossed with the Homo sapiens. However, this theory (though suiting Xavier's attitude) is losing more ground in the scientific world with each genetic study of Neanderthalian remains, none of which have shown a proof of a genetic crossing with our ancestors.

One of the rare sequels that outshines the original.

This was a great sequel to the first X-MEN movie which was also good but could've been a lot better. Many of the shortcomings of the first movie are annihilated in this one, and the sequel makes a lot of important plot setups for the third movie to cover. The acting was excellent from everybody, the script was well done, and more action scenes were added to make the movie more exciting. The only complaints that I had from this movie was the short screen times for Halle Berry, Patrick Steward, and James Marsden. I hope that for X-MEN 3 Matthew Vaughn will find a way to add new characters,and give these three more screen time than they got here. Overall, a great second entry that knocks the crap out of the first movie.
