40 minutes of delight!
30 October 2016 | by See all my reviews

Writer/producer/director Donovan Winter made seven films between 1961 and 1976, including a couple of shorts. This is one of the shorts and a captivating little film it is too. In fact, it's a remarkably professional job from an independent film-maker who not only wrote, directed and produced, but I strongly suspect photographed as well. The photographer credit is actually for a "George Perks" – a pseudonym if ever there was one! In any event, the color photography is really outstanding, using monochromatic colors to considerable effect. The script maintains audience interest and sympathy to the point that we were all really disappointed when the film ended. The acting is most capable – in fact the actors are so ingratiating that we wished to see more of them. Indeed that wish could be applied to the entire crew responsible for this outstanding British movie! Forty minutes of delight!
