Brilliantly funny low-budget feature
paenn3 July 2002
I didn't know what to expect when I saw Adam Nadler's SHOOT GEORGE, but this low-budget feature turns out to be a first-class tragicomedy in the tradition of Frank Capra.

Nadler creates engaging characters, an intriguing moral dilemma, and plenty of fun along the way. Joel Forsythe plays George, the protagonist, with understated humor, and Karen Veloce is charming as his waitress-turned-gun-moll girlfriend. Tony Gigante is hilarious as the detective charged with finding the serial killer.

Despite its serious theme, the tone of the film is lighthearted, the language mostly clean, and even the few violent scenes mild in comparison to typical Hollywood studio fare.

In summary, both as an investor and as the filmmaker's brother, I can enthusiastically recommend the brilliant independent tragicomedy SHOOT GEORGE to everyone.
