'Home Edition' powers ABC to demo win

22 August 2005 | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

Repeats of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition were enough to win the night for ABC in the adults 18-49 demographic on Sunday, but the network still found it hard to populate its new 9 p.m. series My Kind of Town. ABC's 8 p.m. repeat of Home Edition was the night's top-rated show in adults 18-49 with an average of 3.1 rating/9 share and 7.6 million viewers. The second episode of Town slipped at 9 p.m. to 5.8 million viewers and 2.2/6 in the demo. CBS' 60 Minutes (10.2 million, 1.8/6) ranked as the most-watched program of the night and was the only show on a rerun-laden night to crack the 10 million-viewer mark. The eye network also did respectable business from 9-11 p.m. with its repeat of the 2002 miniseries Living with the Dead (8.4 million, 2.0/6). NBC's highest marks came with the 9 p.m. rerun of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (8.8 million, 2.6/7). Fox was wall-to-wall repeats, led by the 9 p.m. encore of Family Guy (5.8 million, 2.7/8). For the night, CBS led in viewers (8.7 million); ABC pushed past Fox for bragging rights in adults 18-49 (ABC's 2.4/7 to Fox's 2.2/7). »
