Jason Clarke in Talks to Play John Connor in Terminator: Genesis; Director and Studio at Odds over Actress for Sarah Connor

While we've been reporting on who might be playing Sarah Connor in the upcoming Terminator reboot, Terminator: Genesis, we might have an actor for her son…Her much older son.  According to Deadline, Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) is in talks to play John Connor, the robot-killing messiah-figure of the post-apocalyptic future.  As we previously reported, Brie Larson (Short Term 12) and Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) are the frontrunners for Sarah Connor, and since they're both younger than Clarke by about two decades, there's clearly some time travelin' going on.  I really hope that at one point, John Connor yells at his mom, "You're not the boss of me!" and runs to his room. Bérénice Bejo And Annette Bening Starring In Michel Hazanavicius’s The Search

Worldview Entertainment has closed a deal for the North American distribution rights for Academy Award winner Michel Hazanavicius’s drama, The Search, starring Academy Award nominees Bérénice Bejo and Annette Bening.

Hazanavicius wrote the screenplay and is reuniting with Academy Award winning producer Thomas Langmann, and his award winning production team from The Artist.

The Search is the story of an Ngo worker who forms a special relationship with a young boy in warn-torn Chechnya and is based on Academy Award winner Fred Zinnemann’s Oscar-winning 1948 film, with the same title, which is set in post-World War II Berlin.

The production is currently filming in the country of Georgia before moving to France.

Worldview’s Christopher Woodrow, Molly Conners, Maria Cestone and Sarah E. Johnson will executive produce. The Search is the second acquisition for Worldview this year following the pre-Cannes pick-up of the competition title, “Jimmy P.,” starring Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, »

Afm: Berenice Bejo’s ‘The Search’ Finds U.S. Home

Worldview Entertainment has closed a deal for the North American distribution rights for Michel Hazanavicius’s drama, “The Search,” starring Berenice Bejo and Annette Bening.

“The Serach” is currently filming in the country of Georgia before moving to France. Wild Bunch is handling international sales and is introducing to the film to buyers at the American Film Market.

CAA represented Worldview on the acquisition.

Hazanavicius wrote the screenplay and is reuniting with “The Artist” producer Thomas Langmann. Worldview’s Christopher Woodrow, Molly Conners, Maria Cestone and Sarah E. Johnson will executive produce.

Lotus to sell Candy Store

Worldview Entertainment has come on to finance and produce crime thriller Candy Store starring Robert De Niro, Jason Clarke and Omar Sy. Lotus Entertainment will kick off sales at the Afm.

Stephen Gaghan will direct from a screenplay he wrote with Shannon Burke about an undercover police officer whose life comes back to haunt him when he starts over as a beat cop in Brooklyn.

CAA packaged and arranged financing for the film and will represent North American rights. Principal photography is scheduled to commence in 2014.

Gaghan produces with Allison Sheamur through Allison Sheamur Productions as well as Worldview CEO, Christopher Woodrow and COO Molly Conners as well as Ironwood’s Nicolas Gonda and Ryan Rettig.

Ironwood is making an investment in the film. Worldview’s Maria Cestone and Sarah E Johnson and Lotus co-founders Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel will serve as executive producers with Michael G Macs for Ironwood, Allyn Stewart and [link »
