"I Can Fix Things"!!!
18 August 2011 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

Is everything really as it seems?? That's the question you will be asking yourself. Joe Waterman is a friendly, popular fireman who has reason to believe his wife is having an affair with a younger co-worker. Doesn't he see the flashy yellow car parked outside his house when he happens to arrive home early from work?? It seems the fire station is the only place where Joe finds the friendship and respect he deserves - but is something missing from there as well?? He is constantly passed over for promotion and his wife is more than happy to rub his nose in it!! So Joe, as well as coaching basketball at the local youth club, also spends hours on the computer, just to avoid conversations with his wife, who is a complete cow so who would want to talk to her!!

While on the computer he comes across the mysterious James Napeworth who consoles Joe about his hopeless marriage and claims "I can fix things"!! From the start Napeworth (played by Keith Allen, the only name in the cast and definitely a lot younger and tauter looking in the face than I can remember seeing him) - anyway, he is a very elusive character, often disappearing completely when Joe turns around to talk to him. Napeworth appears to be a hit man and Joe is reluctantly talked around to agreeing to have his wife "disposed of". Napeworth will murder his wife, take some jewelry, throw some things around to make it look like a burglary gone wrong!! Joe comes in at the appointed time to find both his wife and her lover dead but with no sign of a break in. It seems that Napeworth has disappeared into thin air and Joe in a panic starts throwing things around, hiding the jewels in the toilet cistern etc but it is clear when the police arrive they have no doubt that Joe was the mastermind. Their trump card at the end will leave the viewer amazed!!

While very good, it falls short of the opening story "Teacher". Unless you are a avid "Eastenders" viewer (Ryan Philpot, Steve McFadden) the cast will not be familiar.
