Soft-core porn "documentary" about UK page three model Kathy Lloyd

Unless you actually live in the UK and used to read the gutter press back in the mid-80's to early-90's, you probably don't know what a "PAGE THREE GIRL" is or why Kathy Lloyd should warrant her own "Playboy" DVD. There's actually quite a bit of prestige in rising through the ranks of the modelling world to gaze out at you topless from page three of "The Sun" while eating your cornflakes of a morning, and no-one seemed to bother that much that anyone can read a newspaper, even young teenage lads, though of course, we weren't really reading "page three" at all - just looking! I was a huge fan back then of the "big names" in the field which were Linda Lusardi, Samantha Fox and Kathy Lloyd. The last truly great "page three" girl was probably Melinda Messenger. Aside from topless modelling, the only other real job for these girls was as "hostesses" on various TV game-shows which like topless modelling, doesn't really require much in the brain department. All these ladies have now sadly retired, though there are plenty of new girls to take their place.

"Playboy's Kathy Lloyd Celebrity Special" is one of just many "Playboy" themed releases, each covering a famous model - Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy, Anna Nicole Smith and home-grown UK talent like Jo Guest all have their own DVD's. I'm not going to bother reviewing them all, as they are all about the same, a "documentary" about 45 minutes in length, split into various segments with the respective model showing off her assets in various assorted items of lingerie interspersed with what passes as an interview about life and love together with numerous stripteases. There's not a lot wrong with this concept, but it is very mild as adult titles go and by no means would this be called "hardcore" - it's fairly quaint in its own little way, and a relic of a by-gone age. No more erotic than looking at "Page Three" itself, which makes you wonder why it is rated "18" when any ten year old can pick up a newspaper and look at stuff like this every day with no questions asked, and with hardcore internet porn also very easy to access, it's a wonder that mild stuff like this sells. Very tame and for Kathy's fans only. 5/10
