Storyline

Bangalore-based Police Inspector Amar, a reformed juvenile, convicted for knifing a male, is approached by Mumbai's Police Commissioner Vinod Talwar, and assigned the task of locating the killer(s) of a businessman, Khanna. Amar soon finds out that the culprit is none other than his childhood friend, Raja Lokhande. His attempts to reform Raja will be ridiculed, his life will be endangered and out of control when he will be given an ultimatum to arrange an 'encounter' killing of not only Raja, but also his other childhood buddies, Surya, whose sister, Pooja, is his childhood sweetheart; and Jaggu, Raja's brother - while the underworld, led by Lala Roshanlal, asks him to prove himself by killing a Police Inspector attached to Naigaon Police Station. State of Grace
12 May 2015 | by (India) – See all my reviews

Mahesh Bhatt is known for lifting Hollywood films, though as a director he did give several great films though some were copied ANGAAREY is Akshay's only film with Bhatt and it shows, as during those days Akshay didn't do good films and his films were flopping and his acting was criticised, in this film however his act is better and also the film is better then his films those days like KEEMAT and Barood. The film is a remake of STATE OF GRACE but it's well handled, the film also seems similar to Salman's AUZAAR(1997) and later Vikram Bhatt remade it as FOOTPATH(2003). The film has Akshay as a cop who is sent to reform his friends who are gone on the wrong path. Mahesh Bhatt is a pro as a filmmaker and he handles the film very well, the drama scenes as always are the best though the film is quite stereotypical and does have some 90s clichéd scenes but yet that can be overlooked Music is good, Tanha Tanha being the best song, rest songs are decent

Akshay Kumar does a superb job, under the guidance of Bhatt who mostly extracts good performances from actors, though his hairstyle is inconsistent throughout Pooja Bhatt is decent and looks hot in the film, Sonali Bendre too is superb Nagarjuna is good in his role, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover are good in their roles
