Storyline

In this talk show, somewhat misleadingly titled (Dutch for "The last show" [of the day on TV], which it isn't, usually not even close), each season one presenter (or two alternating) receives every evening a number of guests, mainly Flemish celebrities, who have recently been in the spotlights in Flanders (politicians, artists, sports-people etc.), first for a talk about his/her item, then staying on the sofa to interact with the next guests. The tone is playful, it's meant as entertainment rather then information, so guests who show a sense of humor are more likely to be asked again, and due to the show's popularity that's considered flattering and excellent publicity. A light night talk-show
28 October 2005 | by (Belgium) – See all my reviews

'De laatste show' means actually in English: 'the last show', which refers to the fact that the show is broad-casted rather late in the evening. 'De laatste show' is a smooth talk-show. Mark Uyterhoeven usually interview someone who has been in the news someway (like someone who was won an important sport event, politicians who have said something remarkable or extremely stupid, musicians who brought out a new album...).

Every day of the week their is a fixed guest (example: like on Monday Dirk Draulans comes, he's a biologist, and he come's to tell something funny or weird about the nature).

The show always end with a song. The show has it's own band: 'de laatste show band' who always play a famous song on the end. If one of the guests is a musician, that musician sings together with the band.

This show is the best Flemish talk-show for the moment. I would rate this show: 8,5/10
