Absolutely delicious short!
Coventry12 December 2004
I think this is some kind of student-film project...or maybe the effort of a group of enthusiast horror fanatics. Whatever it is, I'm glad I saw it! Heck, I even regret that it only lasted a good 20 minutes because Deadline is one of the coolest Dutch things I ever saw. Three young journalists break into a company that designs violent video games in order to film a scoop. There, they encounter ravenous zombies that were infected by mutated mosquitoes. The short is very gore and stuffed with splendid references towards true horror classics. The locations are decorated by magnificent old movie posters, like the initial promotional poster of "Re-Animator". If you live anywhere near the Netherlands: track it down!

More zombies please!

This is a decent endeavor but the guy who wrote the screenplay seems to be a bit in the dark as to what exactly makes a zombie movie cool. No, it isn't CGI bugs and software companies. Actually I'm not sure whether it was a software company - I saw it without subtitles so I had to guess what they're talking about. Anyway my point was - instead of wasting your time animating some dumb-ass bug, why not throw in more zombies and more action. 2/3 of the 20 minutes consist of news bulletins, bugs, some guys yelling about something. And to makes matters worse (more boring) most of the deaths occur off-screen. I realize that's all too common for no-budget movies, but then there were some very impressive effects (well, kind-a of) which left me wondering why did the director (or screenwriter, whatever) chose to focus on how the epidemic started - it's a short, nobody's gonna care anyway.

Don't even think about it !

I bought this DVD after seeing it highly ranked here. It's just a short 20 minutes zombie film. Nothing special about it except for the music perhaps.

Don't buy it! Not even really worth spending 20 minutes to see it. Only if you're really bored...

just awesome!

This is finally one of the greatest zombie movies ever made in Europe! My advice is watch it learn from it and start making you own zombie movie! This movie made by Dutch filmmakers is a good example about how to make a good zombie movie with almost no money. Just ask around a lot and find a good script, and start filming!

Help create something terrifying!

If you've seen this movie and liked it please read on: The makers of Deadline are currently working on a new feature zombie movie; a Dawn of the Dead on a micro-scale with elements of 28 Days Later and Jackass thrown in. With the filming climate in The Netherlands small horror-films are pretty difficult to realize. But...this movie can be made with your help. The DVD distribution rights for the USA are still available. If you're seriously interested in creating something seriously entertaining, please email us at the address found on our site (see the link on Deadline's main page) and we'll send you a treatment. Thanks in advance for the support!

Beginings of great zombie movie.

Deadline is a new take on the old zombie movie. This short film has a lot of promise. I would love to see this movie extended into a feature length version. For the small amount of money that was used to produce this movie, the effects included looked very real. The acting was very good.

Short, but sweet

This zombie short was made for a shoestring budget but looks like Imelda Marcos' walk-in closet! Newscrew looking for a scoop, party-crash a zombie outbreak caused by contaminated mosquitos. Twisted Pictures' first stab at filmmaking is nothing revolutionary, but a very entertaining 20+ minutes of zombie mayhem, that looks good and leaves you wanting more. The dvd is chock full of info (most of it in Dutch) and oozes the pleasure they cast and crew must have had while making this picture. Is there no producer that can give the guys and gals of Twisted Pictures the chance to prove that this exercise in horror was not a one-time-deal but the beginning of something great and gruesome!!

Excellent zombie movie

This is an incredible zombie movie.

Nitpickers might find a few flaws in the story, but considering the budget, this movie was truly excellent. I found the whole thing very creative and will recommend it to all my horror movie/independent film/zombie movie lover friends
