Die yuppies, Die!, 29 March 2004

This movie's a real sleeper. No, not some undiscovered gem that was grossly overlooked, this is a movie that will put you to sleep. Very slow and with intensely unlikable characters. Three disgustingly rich couples are hanging out for the weekend at some secluded beach home. It's pretty much a mansion, yet they wash & dry their dishes by hand? Guess that puts them "in touch" with the common man. Anyway, these spoiled folks are not happy with what they have so spend a lot of time lusting after what others have, especially spouse-wise. All of a sudden folks start to turn up dead. So who's the culprit? Certainly not the one that the cops think it is. At any rate, not enough of these disgusting characters get dispatched, and it isn't until towards the end that things really pick up and the plot twists and turns toward the surprise ending. The last part of the movie was actually pretty well done, so it's pretty unfortunate that it's so muddled and confusing at the beginning because that pretty well kills off most the interest right there. Also, unfortunately then ending isn't enough to save this movie from itself, and therefore it will bore you to tears. Not recommended.
