Storyline

Doug is a high school teen who has everything: Loving parents and younger brother, terrific girlfriend, and a rock band he plays in after school. Doug also has a drug habit, and all those good things begin to fall by the wayside as his drug dependency and erratic behavior worsen and alienation sets in. Doug wanders into an anti-drug lecture by David Toma (who plays himself in a sequence so powerful it nearly splits the film in half), but Doug is eventually ejected for disruptive behavior. Doug just doesn't get the message - until, inevitably, a terrible tragedy occurs. A surprising subject to be tackled by the Disney studio, this is still an effective and powerful anti-drug film that tells it like it is and doesn't chicken out and weaken its message with a soft ending. David Toma Drug Lectoure
25 November 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I had the privilege of seeing David Toma in person on January 3, 1988 at Granada Hills High School in Granada Hills, California. I will never forget it. Toma's story is compelling and hard-hitting. After reading his book. Toma Tells It Straight With Love, seeing him in person was even more unforgettable to me. Next year this legendary giant of a man will be 75 years old. I want to wish him an early Happy Birthday to this true man among men. Alcohol and drugs will ruin a person's life.

Drugs and alcohol are very, very bad for you They will ruin your life Get them out of your life Before it becomes too late. Drunk and drugged up people do many foolish things God Bless David Toma Parents give up alcohol and drugs for the sake of your kids Kids give up alcohol and drugs for yourself, for your parents and for your futures.
