Wonderful dark humour in something truly horrific, 14 May 2008

Great film, interesting approach to this subject, wonderful sense of black humour. Well worth watching. The rats are real which makes this all the more interesting in the age of digitally produced facsimiles Jacques Holender has a profound understanding of the reality of horror that happens when an infestation is encountered Very good film This film should change most peoples perceptions of rats. Are the rats real in his mind or only imagined. From a personal point of view, going away and coming back to the horrendous smell would be truly horrifying. This film makes the whole idea of encounters with rats beyond imagination. The cinematography in this show is excellent I truly recommend this show.
You can tell how good a movie is by the sound quality., 11 December 2006

Lots of times you can tell how bad a film is by he sound quality.
This must have been a very low budget film because it has such bad sound that I had trouble even understanding dialog. You crank up your TV to hear the poorly under micraphoned characters and then in the next scene they surprise you with some crap, like a really loud vacuum to see if they can blow the speakers in the TV.
This crap has the feel of a college film project.
The sound track is horrible too, it's supposed to set feeling but it's more like someone just randomly pushes keys on a keyboard. And the random keyboard pushing just keeps carrying on and on.
I also have a feeling they only had one camera when filming this one.
I don't know what was funnier. The 3d special effects they used for the target shooting scene are the acting.
If you can get over all that, there is a couple funny points.
Rats shows you how fragile sanity is, 20 April 2005

Author: sugar_hi from Canada
Rats is a truly interesting film as it shows what a fine line we walk between sanity and madness. The film takes a unique view on how a random events can have a domino effect on ones life. The movie is filled with interesting characters, some only entering scenes briefly, but you do not forget them. Also if the plot isn't enough, the accompanying soundtrack beautifully mirrors the emotions portrayed by the actors. It is also wonderful to see Canadian talent having an opportunity to show what they can do. If you appreciate movies that aren't your run of the mill Hollywood fluff you will appreciate Rats. It leaves the viewer with much to think about in their own lives.
