nothing captured the 80's more than this cheesy but addictive groundbreaking series!
2 April 2006 | by (chicago) – See all my reviews

Mike Meyer's Wayne's World just ripped off the whole format of Rockin America! Rick Ducommun was just great and Joe Simon introducing each act with his head barely able to reach over the steering wheel of his car... so funny and set the tone for pop video shows for years. Ahead of its time. Premice: The American government banned pop videos so it was up to this crew to make sure America was able to see their favorite pop video's, with a makeshift studio in a basement while evading the FBI... No other show captures the spirit of the 80's more than this. although cheesy, it was groundbreaking and I looked forward to Saturday nights when it would air. each actor was terrific, Rick, sitting in the basement in front of a TV camera, vj'ing his favorite tunes had me rolling. Joe Simon was always in a jam, beaming video's from a little satellite dish from the back of his car, he was the guy all the girls were in love with. I just wanted his clothes. Bring it back!
