Moronic TV series, 20 April 2006
Author: peace63 from Valencia, Spain

Kong has to represent one of the lowest points in cartoons for children. The characters are less than moronic. One guy always talks like a Valley Girl or Surfer Boy and he makes Hoss from Bonanza seem like Sir Isaac Newton. The Kong gorilla is never in the right scale. Sometimes it is about seventy feet tall, other times it is about thirty feet tall in comparison to the other characters.

The messages or lessons are heavy handed and very obvious. This show must have been written for children in Special Education classes. No disrespect meant, but there is nothing subtle or surprising or new. The show plods along towards the obvious resolutions of every problem, and the bad guys are totally despicable, and everything is a matter of black and white.

Another disturbing factor is the frequent use of violence to solve problems. Since this is a show about a Gorilla, and one of the main characters (Surfer Dude) is basically another Ape, there is not much thinking that goes into problem solving. It is all about catching the bad guys and stomping their evil machines and weapons. The only good thing about this series is that it was quickly canceled.
