Storyline

The best of the reality series crop is back, with 12 teams of 2 players each racing around the world, trying not to be eliminated at a series of checkpoints in which the last team to arrive is booted from the show. CBS chooses teams with relationships containing at least some tension, especially when the situation involves intense pressure. This season includes such duos as two circus clowns, a gay married couple, a father and son, a recently engaged couple, married couples, and best friends. Written by T.J. Magwire

Trivia

At the beginning of Leg 3 in Season 10, teams were not given any money and were not permitted either to beg for money or to sell items. Instead, they had to earn money in the Roadblock.

At the beginning of Leg 4, teams received 588,000 Dong VND (approximately USD $37) at the start of the leg. This was the first time in Race history the cash distribution was made in a currency in other than US dollars. See more »

Goofs

Flipped Shot: When Chip and Kim deliver the chairs in Mto Wa Mbu in the episode "Are You Sure This Is Safe?" there's a child wearing a Pokemon shirt which is shown as a mirrored image. This is done on a lot on reality shows where licensed clothing is visible in order to get around licensing issues. Also, it's easier to flip the image than to blur it out. See more »

Usually great, but last season was terrible
4 January 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I would rate this show a 9 if it wasn't for last season. The family edition three seasons ago and the one after that with the hippies were awesome. I loved every episode of those.

But last season I stopped watching after the 4th or 5th episode. I don't remember seeing a show in which I didn't like a single contestant. They either had no personality or were too bitchy. TAR's aim for diversity produced some of the most ridiculous array of contestants that I've seen. We had an equal helping of Muslims, handicapped, Indians, homos, and ho's. I hope they have better characters next season.
