E!’s New Scripted Series Sure Sounds Like a Thinly Veiled Tom Cruise Exposé

29 January 2016 12:56 PM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Remember all those stories about Tom Cruise's "wife auditions"? E! does! The network announced today its second scripted series (after The Royals) would be The Arrangement, a drama about a young actress who finds herself falling for her A-list co-star — only to be presented with a contract arranging the ins and outs of their potential relationship. And if that wasn't salty enough, our A-lister is under the sway of a mysterious self-help figure, played by Michael Vartan, who runs something called the Institute of the Higher Mind. Yes, that's right: The hot dude from Alias is playing David Miscavige. The series, which has been picked up for a first season of ten hour-long episodes, will star Christine Evangelista and Josh Henderson — as "Megan Morrison" and "Kyle West," sadly, and not "Hatie Colmes" and "Crom Tooze." »

After Megan’s amazing audition leads to an incredible first date — and more — with Kyle, her Cinderella story takes an unexpected turn when she is presented with a contract that would change her life forever.

Christine Evangelista (“Chicago Fire”) will play Megan, co-starring with Josh Henderson (“Dallas,” “Desperate Housewives”) who will play Kyle. Michael Vartan (“Alias”) plays Kyle’s mentor Terrence Anderson, who runs a »

Did Netflix Just Reveal the 'Luke Cage' Premiere Date?

25 January 2016 5:18 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Way back in November 2013, when Marvel and Netflix first announced their new shows Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage and Marvel's Iron Fist, the announcement claimed that all four shows would debut sometime in 2015. This plan ultimately proved to be too ambitious, with only two of the four shows, Marvel's Daredevil and Marvel's Jessica Jones, arriving within that calendar year. The remaining programs haven't been given a specific premiere date yet, but the official Jessica Jones Twitter page released a new photo that could hint at a November debut for Marvel's Luke Cage.

The seemingly innocuous photo is a close up shot at Jessica Jones' (Krysten Ritter) desk, which features a file folder that simply reeds "Cage - November." It's worth noting that Marvel's Jessica Jones debuted on Netflix this past November, with the streaming service handing out a Season 2 renewal earlier this month. Netflix didn't say »
