"24" (2001) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Sex/Nudity:

5/10

Characters of both genders are seen in various states of undress (no explicit content). Naked characters are sometimes seen in bed, with lots of skin but no sensitive areas shown.

Several characters have sex off-screen. There are brief men/women and women/women make-out scenes.

The term "screw" is used sexually, and there is lots of mention of people sleeping together, having affairs, etc.

In first season, two characters are shown having sex with the girl on top. Everything is covered but you can hear the moaning and can see some thrusts.

Elisha Kuthbert wears a top through which her nipples can be identified. This happens at least 2 times across seasons. In one of the scenes, she is shown wearing a panty and top.

In the first season, Jack's wife Teri is raped off-screen, but we see her offering herself to be assaulted as an alternative to her daughter being raped.

Violence & Gore

8/10

Given that there is almost 200 hours of footage, it would be near impossible to describe every scene of violence that occurs in the show. That being said, scenes of shooting, stabbing, explosions, and/or torture are a given in almost every episode.

Some of the more "extreme" episodes feature viral outbreaks, plane crashes, toxic gases, hostage takings, and nuclear detonations.

Countless gunshot wounds, and the majority of them are graphic with lots of blood.

We see a woman with cut wrists lying dead in a chair, and we see tons of blood all over her and the surrounding furniture.

We see several bloody bullet holes in various parts of peoples' bodies.

People are tortured onscreen, oftentimes nude (though nothing other than the top of a bare butt is shown), with saws, pliers, medical equipment, and other objects, and the bloody results are often shown.

A man digs into another man's stomach with his bare hands to retrieve a computer chip.

If reading this description makes you uneasy, this show may not be for you.

Profanity

4/10

Pretty mild. The word "dammit" , and the phrase "Son of a Bitch" is used in most episodes

Some characters drink, smoke and do various drugs. We see lots of drug paraphenalia.

A major sub-plot is Jack Bauer 's addiction to heroin.

In Season 3, there is lots of aberrant drug content, a lot of it graphic, showing people shooting up with heroin and their highs, as well as the (sometimes violent) negative effects of people trying to quit their addiction cold-turkey.

The torture scenes could be described as "intense".

Several characters have intensely emotional death scenes. The majority of the show is based off of major characters being harmed or being in peril, and it is very rough to watch when main characters are killed graphically.

The entire sereis is very intense due to its non stop nature.

Many (most) characters have met an untimely death.

In season 8 there is a scene where a man is tortured and gutted and there is a lot of blood involved.

I would reccomend this for people above 14, but I do know of MANY 11-14 year olds who were absolutely fine while watching it. If they play Call of Duty, Uncharted, or any violent video game, they will be fine.

This is rated TV14 for-Language,Brief Drug Use,Intense scenes,Strong violence, and Bloody Tortures.
