The success of Tusk has opened the door to getting Clerks III made, Kevin Smith has revealed.

With his new horror movie Tusk now in Us cinemas, and with him already hard at work on the second part of what's known as his Great North Trilogy, Kevin Smith is a busy man. Yoga Hosers is his next film, but after that, it looks as if the pieces have finally fallen into place for Clerks III.

On the latest episode of his Hollywood Babble-On podcast, Smith revealed that "Tusk was the absolute bridge to Clerks III", and that "because of Tusk, I got my financing for Clerks III".

Smith revealed that he'd been trying to get Clerks III made in time for the 20th anniversary of the first film, but had failed to find the funding to do so. After Tusk, people were "going holy fuck, what else do you have? »

Alexandra Burke is to star in a re-telling of the Passion for BBC One's live Good Friday broadcast.

The 25-year-old former X Factor winner will perform renditions of 'Amazing Grace' and '(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher And Higher' in The Great North Passion.

The programme will be presented by Fearne Britton, while The Futureheads will also perform during the show.

Burke said: "Gospel has always had a big influence on my music. I love that spiritual sound, so to perform such heartfelt songs in the context of re-telling the incredibly powerful story of the Passion will be an amazing experience."

Burke will be accompanied by a massed choir of local singers, along with other performers and opera singer Graeme Danby.

Meanwhile, she will also perform her brand-new song 'Where Do Hearts Go?'.

Audience members also have the opportunity to join the choir and sing on stage with Burke. »

Wilt by Tom Sharpe

There are a lot of definitions of comedy floating around out there. My personal favorite is the theory of "bad to worse." There's something about watching someone go from bad to worse, but still bring cheerful, even upbeat about it, that just cracks me up. It certainly works in Curb Your Enthusiasm, the reigning heavyweight champ. You'll also see it on The Simpsons. Family Guy, ditto. The hell with the three-act, Robert McKee, story-structure hoo-haa. Instead of getting someone up a tree, throwing sticks at him, and getting him back down again, in comedy, for me, it's just about throwing sticks at him. Then trees. Then the whole frickin' Great North Woods. You get the idea.

Wilt, a book by a Brit named Tom Sharpe, a book written way back in the mid-'80s when women's lib and sexual lib and educational lib were all the rage, »

The Coen Brothers Are Executive Producers Executive producer and writer Noah Hawley said that the Coen brothers didn't have to put their name on the series, but they read the first script, and they really liked it. Hawley said that the filmmaker brothers told them TV is not their medium, but "they just »
