A bit on the ....ah..cheesy side, but it's a low budget film, so I guess you go into it knowing you are going to have to overlook some of that (and by "that", I am mainly referencing the soundtrack! You never realize it, but after seeing this, I feel music can really make or break a movie). It was a great story, and I did enjoy watching it with my husband-obviously there is Christian material, so if you are a Christian, I don't suppose you will mind. If you are not a Christian, you probably won't like the movie, and between the stalker-esquire main character and the Christian foundation you will have a lot to make fun of. It was a great 'parable' about the love and sacrifice Jesus made for us-it gives you a good look at what love is really about, and how selfless love really is. Overall, I would call it "good"-As far as Christian movies go, I wouldn't put it anywhere NEAR the Passion of the Christ, or even Facing the Giants. But I would still call it a pretty good movie with a very sincere and biblical message.

Great story.

This movie was great. Just a great story. Any left wing liberal out there who wants to bash this great love story can stick it. I will agree that some of the acting was a little sub-par. But hey this was a low budget independent Christian film. You know what? It was the best I have seen in a long long time. A true testament to unconditional love. A great movie. I am not even a regular at any church and I loved this movie. I saw it all the way through the credits after i saw it at least twice. This movie is one that everyone who has ever been in love and the power that it makes us realize we have inside of us all if we really knew how to reach out and really love. I highly recommended this movie. It's a no-brainer. Love never fails.

A man reforms a wayward woman's ways.

A Sensible Obsession is a piece of Christian propaganda where a man on his death bed reminisces over the love of his life, a once prostitute who becomes a better woman through his all powerful love. The film wouldn't be all that bad if the acting was up to par, the writing tightened so that the wordiness wouldn't seem so obvious, and direction livened up a little.

As it is now, one can feel the fundamentalist fingers behind Mr. Jiha's efforts as he controls everything in this film from the cinematography to the score (one wonders if he had a hand in the craft services as well) without upsetting nary a conservative soul.

One wishes he had the nerve and make the film a comedy of manners ala Shallow Hal where the crudeness of one's person beliefs would give way to sweet, secular conclusion.
