Perhaps the best racing game EVER!!!, 24 December 2006

These days xbox 360 owners will be familiar with the likes of Project Gotham Racing 3, and soon to be PGR4! People discuss what game is better PGR2 on Xbox or PGR3 on Xbox 360! Well the answer is neither! Metropolis Street Racer.... though most of you have probably never heard of it, is the origin of the PGR series and the best racing game to date. The handling featured in PGR, Environment detail in PGR, its all there in Metropolis Street Racer. It gives you its own tracks and allows you to free roam any of the 3 cities at your own pace. These three cities being London, Tokyo and San Francisco. What was so revolutionary about this game was the attention to detail. If you saw a phone box in this game, or saw a tree... they would be in exactly the same place if you went to London today! I have to say though my favourite part of this game was the ability to drive cars you would rarely or never get to play every in any other game. Including some OUTRAGEOUS unlockables which are DOWNRIGHT FUNNY!!!

These including...

Lawn Mower London Taxi London Double Decker Bus San Francisco Taxi San Francisco Bus Tokyo Taxi Tokyo Bus ------------------------------

Cars that were particularly fun to be able to drive and highly rare to gaming were the Peugeot 306 Convertible, Fiat Barchetta, and Fiat Turbo to name a few! ------------------------------ Gameplay - 96% - Fantastic!

Even now the graphics are playable and as handling goes its pretty much EXACTLY the same as the handling found in PGR today! to give you an idea of when the game was released it was just after the release of the Vauxhall VX220 Sports Car, this can be seen on the front cover ------------------------------ Scenery - 88% - Great!

The bad point about the scenery... Not graphically brilliant Other bad points about the scenery... THERE IS NONE

The attention to detail in the environment is superb and detail that can only be found in MSR and the PGR series! ------------------------------ Vehicles - 98%

Brilliant selection... As many as found in other games and cars that wouldn't usually be seen in other games, making this game unique. If the selection of cars wasn't enough to make this game "Unique" then the fun cars in the game such as the London Taxi surely do! ------------------------------ Sound - 95% - Great Realist

The patter of raindrops, engine noises, all recorded from their real life counterparts! Attention to detail.. again BRILLIANT! ------------------------------ OVERALL - 94% - Fantastic, though to todays standards, though playable they may be, graphics lack depth, that when the game was released, were revolutionary, and now dated!

THATS MY 2 CENTS!!!
