Storyline

Sara is going to visit her high school friend Emily. As she travels there she recalls her last experience with her teenage crush. A letter that Sara wrote Emily is recited. A letter confessing her romantic love for the other girl. We also get to see her friends reaction to the letter, which was, not impressive. Emily reads the love letter out to her other friends then laughs about it with them. When Sara reaches her destination she recalls what Emily put her through, and, during the finale of this short film she decides she doesn't want to see Sara again. The film ends. A deeply touching story of first love
14 May 2002 | by (Los Angeles) – See all my reviews

I saw Dear Emily at the Los Angeles short film festival and was blown away by the visual style and the sensitivity the piece had. With such a vulnerable subject matter I thought the film touched and executed the story lightly without making it a melodrama. I thought the score was amazing and the images were haunting and captivating.
