Tara Reid Poses for Playboy to Show Off Fixed Plastic Surgery

14 December 2009 12:42 PM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Tara Reid is still around and posing on the January/February cover of Playboy. Quick Tara Reid recap (it's been a while, we know): She starred in American Pie, The Big Lebowski and Van Wilder before becoming most well known for her botched plastic surgery, partying and that one time her boob completely fell out of her dress. But now she's trying to stage a little comeback, the first step of which appears to be telling the world her plastic surgery is all fixed and ready for viewing. What better way to accomplish that than posing topless for Playboy? Here, we'll let the the 34-year-old out-of-work actress explain: "I got it fixed and now I'm Ok and I »

Dollhouse 2.05 "The Public Eye" Recap

14 December 2009 3:42 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Sorry for this super late recap. Let's get to it.

Dollhouse returned with a shocking revelation, metaphorically and literally. The stage is set for the inevitable "Epitaph One" to go down and members of the L.A. Dollhouse have to question who can they trust when the people they work for have turned on them.

The Set Up

Senator Daniel Perrin (guest star Alexis Denisof) prepares for a press conference that would destroy the Rossum Corporation and the Dollhouses. His wife Cindy (guest star Stacey Crowley) wishes him luck. Perrin enters the stage and gives his speech about how Dollhouse is not a myth and that he wants to put a face on the issue that is the Dollhouse. That face?

Madeline/"November" (guest star Miracle Laurie)

Whoa.

She makes her testimony about how Perrin showed her evidence and how she was disgusted with what she saw. She then declares »

Green Lantern Was Almost A Tarantino Film

2 December 2009 11:08 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

While we are closer than ever to seeing a live-action Green Lantern movie, it sure is taking its sweet time to get going. A script has been written (by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim), a director has been chosen (Martin Campbell) and the star has been named (Ryan Reynolds), but the rest has been kept behind closed doors. With those names involved, however, we know what kind of movie we will be getting: well-executed action with plenty of mugging and sass from Van Wilder. But what if someone else were chosen to helm the DC franchise? Like, I don't know, Quentin Tarantino? That almost happened. With Inglourious Basterds' DVD release less than two weeks away, Tarantino has been back on the interview circuit and revealed to MTV that he was approached and offered the chance to direct a Hal Jordan film. He also revealed that he relied »

Ryan Reyolds Says Green Lantern Skips To The Adventure

30 November 2009 1:42 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

If you had told me five years ago that the dude from Van Wilder would go on to become the type of actor that can play a superhero rather than the next Chevy Chase, I would.ve punched you in the face and called you a pansy geek. But it.s true. And it.s more than likely that he.s going to be a damn good superhero too. In fact, he seems to be using a great template as a starting point: the Robert Downey Jr. template. Talking to MTV, Ryan Reynolds made clear that Green Lantern would not be as much of an origin story as we.re used to getting in the first film of a superhero franchise. "It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act," he said. "The movie »

Review: Old Dogs

25 November 2009 3:55 AM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

A turkey.  Over stuffed.  More sour than cranberry sauce.  As flat as a thin layer of mashed potatoes.  More painful than the post-turkey dinner walk to the couch.  Take your pick of these Thanksgiving euphemisms that, each one of them, describes the new comedy Old Dogs, a film so void of successful humor, it could be eligible for Best Drama at next year’s Golden Globe awards if it were any good.  It’s not.  In fact, it’s downright infuriating to watch so much effort put into something so delusional of itself.

You can thank director Walt Becker, who didn’t do enough damage to John Travolta’s career when he put him in a biker gang with Tim Allen, William H. Macy, and Martin Lawrence, for much of Old Dogs’ failures.  Becker’s come a ways since his days of dishing out R-rated fare like Van Wilder and the straight-to-video Buying The Cow. »

Ryan Reynolds Could Have Been Captain Marvel

11 November 2009 10:30 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Ryan Reynolds is setting himself up to be for superhero movies what Will Ferrell is for sports movies. Earlier this year, he turned in a pretty decent performance as Deadpool which will eventually turn into its own series. Next he.s signed up to play Green Lantern. For the sake of this argument, I.m also going to count Van Wilder as a superhero character because that dude is just plain awesome. That's three, and it could have been four. It turns out that writer Bill Birch also thought Reynolds would make a great Captain Marvel. Segal is currently working on a script for Shazam, the film adventures of Captain Marvel. Talking to CineFOOLS, Birch stated: .I always thought Ryan Reynolds would have been interesting but now that he.s Green Lantern that.s not an option.. Captain Marvel, as some may remember, is the alter ego of Billy Batson, »

The Good, The Bad And The Wtf: Let's Exploit Dead People

25 October 2009 6:24 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Welcome to an oversized edition of "The Good, The Bad and the Wtf," to make up for last week's absence. This time, we take a look at X-Men updates, a Turtles buyout, David Spade's shamelessness, a Michael Jackson controversy and how Denzel Washington is allegedly the worst person on Earth.

The Good

• Talking to Empire mag, X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner updates fans on the status of future X-Men projects. Good news for those of you who were pissed off by Wolverine's treatment of Deadpool, because this is what Donner said about the proposed Deadpool movie:

I want to ignore the version of Deadpool that we saw in Wolverine and just start over again. Reboot it. Because this guy talks, obviously, and to muzzle him would be insane.

Cue collective sighs of relief.

• Here's the first official photo of the new A-Team. I'm not holding my breath for this one, »

Wishing Ryan Reynolds A Happy 33!

23 October 2009 1:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

From Hollywood Crush: Whether he's slaying vampires with stakes or slaying audiences with laughter, there's one thing that everybody can agree upon when it comes to actor Ryan Reynolds — he's pretty awesome.

The Canadian-born actor, recently seen in this summer's "The Proposal" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," turned 33 years-old today, prompting the crew here at Birthday Bash — which mostly consists of me, but I like referring to myself as a team — to wish the erstwhile Van Wilder a very happy birthday!

If you're not as convinced as I am that Reynolds is a fantastic Hollywood icon worth celebrating, then please indulge me as I run down five reasons we should all be thankful for the actor's continually evolving career.

Old Dogs Trailer

21 October 2009 6:35 AM, PDT | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

From the director of Wild Hogs comes Old Dogs, which looks equally awful, but Walt Becker has a good rhyme scheme going for his career, especially considering Wild Hogs 2 is on the horizon.

That’s right, John Travolta is returning for another career thrashing with the director who showed promise with the Ryan Reynolds vehicle Van Wilder but little after that. Robin Williams is also here to squander the good will he’s earned with World’s Greatest Dad. In fact, this is looking like a bad situation for many talented people, including Seth Green, Justin Long, Matt Dillon, Rita Wilson, Dax Shepard and Bernie Mac (!?).

The film, scheduled to be released on November 25, 2009, centers around two friends (Travolta and Williams) who suddenly find themselves taking care of twin 7-year-olds. You wouldn’t be able to guess this from the trailer though, which reveals nothing about the plot and is horribly paced. »

Old Dogs Movie Trailer #2

19 October 2009 3:42 AM, PDT | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Check out a second movie trailer for “Old Dogs,” starring John Travolta, Robin Williams, Seth Green, Kelly Preston, Matt Dillon, Lori Loughlin, Rita Wilson, Dax Shepard, Justin Long and the late Bernie Mac.

Two best friends – one unlucky-in-love divorcee (Williams) and the other a fun-loving bachelor (Travolta) – have their lives turned upside down when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of six-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. The not-so kidsavvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins, leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of what’s really important in life.

The film is directed by Walt Becker (Van Wilder, Wild Hogs).

Disney will be debuting “Old Dogs” in theaters Thanksgiving week starting on November 25th.

X-men Origins: Wolverine

It’s quite unfortunate that the X-Men films having started strong are now reduced to this shoddy piece of cinema really. Let’s face it; it all started going downhill around number 3 but this attempt at a prequel just doesn’t deliver at all.

The script is all over the place, not knowing if it wants to be taken seriously or just be a no brainer action film. What we get is cheap dialogue being delivered like it’s Shakespeare. Hugh Jack man is charismatic enough but he hasn’t exactly had a good year, what with the complete bollocks that was Australia and now this.

I think Origins biggest failure is treating Wolverine’s relationship with his brother Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber) like some sort of Eastenders sub-plot. That’s what it is! The whole film feels like a daytime soap opera. The romantic element of »

News & Notes: Green Lantern Moves, Raimi on Spider-Man 4, Malick’s Tree

16 October 2009 3:16 PM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

It's the end of the week, and we've got a bunch of news stories in the bin here at Reject HQ that we'd like to share with you. Unfortunately, not all of them are very big news stories -- you know, the kind that don't require the standard 500-word editorial. With that in mind, we'd like to present today's news and notes... - The current global economic situation has pushed Green Lantern out of Australia. Due to the big rise int he Aussie dollar, Warner Bros. is moving back to North America (probably Mexico or Canada). There is still no word yet as to whether they're considering shooting in space. [THR] - Sam Raimi told a Brit publication this week that he's learned his lesson. And when he makes Spider-Man 4 early next year, he will be applying these learned lessons (stuff like "having limitations" and going "back to basics") in an attempt to make a film that »

Duhamel Has Got...?

No, I’m not questioning Josh Duhamel’s acting ability, What’S He Got is the name of his latest project, promised to be a “high-concept romantic comedy” whatever the hell that means. The film is being shot by Old Hogs and Wild Dogs Wild Hogs and Old Dogs director Walt Becker, so take that how you will. Duhamel Signs For What's He Got?

15 October 2009 12:44 AM, PDT | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

Josh Duhamel has attached himself, like a limpet, to What’s He Got?, a Disney rom-com to be directed by Walt Becker.Becker, of course, is the man responsible for Wild Hogs and Van Wilder, so ordinarily we wouldn’t be holding out much hope that What’s He Got? will become a comedy classic. But Disney sounds much more optimistic, shelling out around a million dollars for the pitch from screenwriter, Kevin Bisch. You’d think that, for that kind of money, we’d at least get a synopsis, but instead the plot remains shrouded in mystery. All we know is that the movie will be a high-concept rom-com.Duhamel’s involvement is interesting. He’s never really become the star we thought he would be after he walked off with Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!, instead getting locked into low-impact turns in the Transformers movies, and the Las Vegas TV show. »

Drunk superstar Tara Reid poses for Playboy

10 October 2009 3:22 PM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

Drunk superstar Tara Reid has posed nude for the popular men’s magazine Playboy. The hot chick from Van Wilder, who once said she would never pose nude, has decided to bare all and cash in on those <ahem> items she purchased a few years ago.

In 2004, Reid had a liposuction procedure that left her stomach in a form that the actress didn’t exactly want. “I know there are problems with my stomach. There are bumps on it, it’s uneven, but it’s not that bad,” she said. “My stomach scars are my battle wounds.”

According to In Touch Weekly, Reid “posed entirely nude for the popular magazine at a private residence on October 7 in Santa Monica, Calif.” A source at the magazine went on to say that she was “a bit insecure about her body when they first started. She looked great and finally got into the groove. »
