Part of the Creature Feature series, this bold remake in name only is about a post nuke future. A freak weather accident has pretty much left the earth in ruins. The few remaining survivors resort to prehistoric ways and now live in tribes. However, one of the members of the tribe kills the leader and he and his group of friends run away so that they won't be murdered for their crime.

Feeling they are headed for nowhere, the group runs afoul of a storm and are token in by a mysterious young woman and her over the top boyfriend. This couple lives in a modern apartment with all the convinces the tribe members only dreamed about. This couple also engages in sexs and drugs, something that was stictly forbidden in the tribe. As the couple makes the tribe members explore their sexuality, the tribe members soon find themselves either exploding to pieces after having sex with the couple or turning into monsters.

Larry Clark would seem like an extremely odd choice to direct, but his maniac direction works fine here. It never allows for things to get boring and keeps things moving along nicely. Clark as usual though, includes plenty of teen sex and other teenage abuses, but he does it with style and with a sharp, wicked sense of humor. He has chosen out his cast rather well. Richard Hillman and Tiffany Limos are both sensational and the rest of the cast does a good job. The special effects are startling. My favorite thing about the film was the stunning cinematography and the way certain colors are all washed out and how other colors are brighter then they should be. One final thing though, this is a smart, scary horror flick (and I feel Roger Corman would be proud), but this film really was not designed with horror fans in mind.

Rated R (should have been an NC-17 though); Strong Sexual Content, Extreme Graphic Violence, Lots of Nudity, Strong Drug Use, and Profanity.
