One of Kimiai's best films, and one of the first experiences in practice of Postmodern forms in Iran cinema. This film has the structure of a dream or nightmare and provides us with such a feeling. From the first scenes, we gradually grow to realize it is not a film with classic ordinary narrative form. Before this film,Kimiai had avoided the mere classic structure in some sequences(despite the fact that he is fan of classic American cinema, especially 1940s) but he was unsuccessful, or less successful than here. And he couldn't repeat his success after this. Here the not classic narration is completely matched with its form, and all the formal helps us to believe its dream-like world. Also with some nostalgic sense, as like his LEAD (sorb). This films follows another of his best films "Sergeant", which was made one year earlier, in this film he had tried to get near to a more visual cinema, with less dialogs (He is famous for his unique dialogs). Unfortunately this film is not well-known in foreign countries and I wonder why. I don't think it is difficult to understand for not Iranian audiences. However it is a unique experience in Iranian cinema, and I think it deserves more attention. it is a sad thing that after this film (radde-paye gorg) his fall begins. He tried to continue his experience, to avoid from narrative form, but he failed. He falls in making films which are more like a manifest than cinema, with careless structure, only aiming to show his Points of view at an especial period of time. And maybe the atmosphere of the community pushed him away from true cinema to a more political, less artistic way of films.
