STAR RATING: ***** Jodie Marsh **** Michelle Marsh *** Kym Marsh ** Rodney Marsh * Hackney Marsh
Military psychiatrist Bill Turner (Michael Dudikoff) is unsuccessful in his attempt to stop a young corporal in the army from committing suicide. However he is presented with a chance to redeem himself when he is asked to evaluate the daughter (Brooke Theiss) of the general (Dan Hedaya.) This is an odd and rather messed up girl with serious underlying problems but there's also a strange amount of suicides going on at the military base. Then the general is murdered and Bill starts receiving mysterious messages from people who are involved with a mystery new drug being tested on recruits.
Strictly video action star Michael Dudikoff takes on a more character driven role in this military thriller from Sam Firstenberg, who previously directed more routine video fare such as Cyborg Cop II and American Samurai. It's quite an impressive effort for a Dudikoff effort, actually, not one I'd mind watching again, with an intriguing and well developed plot and quite interesting characters. Even in a more dramatic role, Dudikoff is still not the master thespian and none of the supporting cast are at their best, but they don't detract from the story in any way. Sadly (for some) 'the Dude's' career has appeared to have drowned in quicksand since this film was made, with this being his last film made since 2002. ***
