Storyline

Teresa and David, two young history fanatics, have been copying inscriptions from gravestones at the local Church. At a later meeting of the school history society, Teresa happens to mention that she has in her house an old piece of embroidered cloth signed by an Abigail Parkes, and David immediately connects the name with one he had seen on a grave. They are further intrigued by a part of the inscription that states Abigail died 'Innocent of All Harm'. Together they set out to discover what happened to Abigail Parkes and why she died so young. Teresa discovers that she is a blood relative of Abigail and, as the story progresses, she seems to become almost possessed by the dead girl's spirit. It's a somewhat tragic tale, depicting Abigail as a girl ruined by the death of her beloved in a mining accident. The poor girl swears after his death that she will wear his ring always but accidentally drops it into a canal. Distraught at the loss she attempts to retrieve the ring but drowns in ...

Fabulous for children and adults alike - a real edge of the seat adventure story which will capture even the hardest of hearts.

A wonderful, delightful story which I initially watched as a child shown by BBC. The book is fabulous and I have read it many times, as have my children. They always ask when it will be shown again on TV. I have made enquiries to the BBC but unfortunately unless enough people contact them to request it be shown again, it just will not happen. This is a brilliant story which you could never tire of watching or reading over and over. No matter how many times you see it or read it, it still keeps your attention. It tells the story of a girl who is drawn to an event which happened in the late 19th century. She sees visions and clues which lead her to discover the truth about what really happened all those years ago. Without spoiling the plot, there are twists and turns to this story which right up until the last minute lead you to believe that you have it all worked out, only for the twist to change things completely. Highly recommended and maybe one day the BBC will show it again.
