The mystery is fun, but....

The singing gets a bit overdone. I really like the mystery in these videos, the mystery is fun to figure out even if for adults it gets really easy to answer since the clues are dead giveaways...but as a kid the mystery was harder to answer and it was fun to figure out.

The mystery is really just secondary

Here we got "The Case of Thorn Mansion", an adventure starring the Olsen Twins from 1994 when they were 7 or 8 years old. The director and one of the two writers is Michael Kruzan, who actually really established a career on all these little films starring Mary-Kate and Ashley. Here the duo pose as mystery solvers and a caller gets them to Transylvania, i.e. to Romania (really?), where they have to sold a little ghost mystery that actually turns out having a connection with bees. Yeah well I am all for grown-ups watching kids films, but honestly this one is really only for kids because it is so wild, do quirky, so fast and a bit of a confusing little film as the Olsens just seem to have too much energy for these 27 minutes. Despite the subject, it's never a scary or thrilling movie and the key of it all is definitely the music as we don't see much investigating by the twins as they are busy singing permanently. The songs are nothing special, mostly forgettable, but I did enjoy "Bravery" the most I think. Still in terms of story-telling or a plot, there is almost nothing in here, even if the title may let you think otherwise. This one's only worth checking out for the very biggest fans of the Olsen girls (and this includes Elizabeth too). Everybody else can skip it and they won't be missing much at all. Sadly, the cute doggy also did not have as much screen time as I hoped it would.

Well, I remember the last time I watched this was probably when I was 6 or 7. I remember watching these "Adventures of MK and A" but this one is the one that sticks out in my mind the most.There are only a few things that I can be completely sure of. Mary Kate and Ashley take you to a spooky mansion (at least at the time it was very spooky) and they see a bunch of jars of, I think, honey, but I can't be sure. There was also a library that they go into that also is filled with jars of honey. I remember that there was a lady with blonde hair that was wearing white that they found in there. Other than that, the only thing I remember is that this was one of my favorite videos. It's great for little kids, and I'd watch it again just to remember what it's about. Overall, if I actually remember a video from when I was younger, then that's a good sign, because I don't remember many movies I saw.
