Trivia
Most of the children sitting at the various delegations' desks are actually the children of the diplomats of the various nations. In the case of the United States desk the children are the children of the Volunteer Directors of the UNICEF US National Regional Offices in the United States. Two boys from the US delegation were scheduled to be interviewed by Bill Cosby, comparing regional differences between how Christmas was celebrated in Brooklyn and Fort Worth. The entire shoot was done in one very long day, as the General Assembly was in session and scheduled to return to work the next day. The schedule was further complicated by an unexpected early snow storm the day of shooting. Despite these challenges, the program was successfully filmed in the General Assembly Building, remaining (as of 2011) the only commercial television program ever to originate from the UN.
