Not that bad, yet not that good...

I bought this game with high hopes. I was thinking it would be the greatest game ever. While it is very good, it could have been a whole lot better. My main complaints are that several things available in Smackdown 2 have been taken out. Like create-a-pay per view and the ability to defend your titles against friends in exhibition mode. Also, there is a real lack of wrestlers in the game. There is about 35, and Smackdown 2 had over 50. Also, the story mode has been changed GREATLY. You no longer have an infinite lasting career. You start out, and the game just shows several cutscene's where you choose what you want to do, then fight a match. This seems cool at first, but after seeing the same movie dozens of times it gets very very very very very very repetitive (And no, you cant skip them either). Now the game does have some great things about it. Like an enhanced Create-A-Wrestler mode, more moves, and the ability to have 8 people on the screen at once. But I dont think this is enough to make a great sequel.

And finally, the gameplay, which has not changed much at all. Th only diffrence is a more useful Square button that can be used for reversals. It makes it slightly more realistic. But the fact that wrestlers will usually get up within 3 seconds of a move (sometimes even get up before you do) makes this game more arcade-like. Some like it that way, and some dont.

Overall, this game is a DECENT effort and is worth a purchase.

One of the best World Wrestling Federation Games Ever
Terryfan17 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
During the start of The Playstation 2 rise to success many video game companies were cashing in to create some of the best and the first games to ever be made on the Playstation 2.

THQ created the first Wrestling Game for The Playstation 2 WWF Smackdown!Just Bring It

The Game offers a lot of great match types everything from Royal Rumble Matches, Cage Match, Ladder Match, Tables, Tables,Ladders,And Chairs match ,Hell In Cell Match, Single Match, 2 out of 3 match, Tag Team, Hardcore match and much more.

You have a full roster of World Wrestling Federation Wrestlers to choice from. You get Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, The Undertaker, Kane, The Big Show, Billy Gunn, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Edge and others.

You can even unlock wrestlers such as Rhyno,Mick Foley, and others.

The Game Story mode allows you to make your own choices and each choice has a action for it.

The Graphics are some of the best on the Playstation 2 the wrestlers look like they do in real WWF Shows, The level designs are good as well, the arenas give you the feel of being on WWF Shows. The Backstage is very good as well.

The Sound is a mix bag. First the music is very strong from the in game music during the matches and the WWF Theme Songs are very much the real themes you hear on WWF Shows.

However the play by play just awful, Tazz and Michael Cole do the play by play during the matches and I wish they would put Jim Ross and Jerry The King Lawler to do it because they are with out question the best.

The Controls use the same as the first two WWF Smackdown video games which help out to fans of the games and to new comers to the series.

The Gameplay just keeps fans coming back for more because you can perform all the same wrestling moves that you see on WWF shows.

Overall if you want to check out a classic wrestling video game then WWF Smackdown Just Bring It is your best bet, the play by play is terrible but the game play and graphics are the reasons to play this classic game.

Overall I give WWF Smackdown Just Bring It a 10 out of 10.

Another Fantastic Smackdown Game, That's Extremely Enjoyable To Play, Only Problem Is The Season Story Line's Kinda Suck

Warning: Spoilers
This is another fantastic Smackdown game, that's extremely enjoyable to play, only problem is the season storyline's kinda suck!. Once again i used Stone Cold and The Rock, mostly, and this time around there a lot more great types of matches to choose from!, plus The effects are a lot better as well!. The music is really great, and my favorite type of match was Hell In A Cell!, and believe me that's a tough match to win. There are lots of great hidden codes you can unlock, and i would say this is tied for my 3rd favorite game in the series!, plus the entrances for the wrestlers looked even cooler this time around!.It never gets boring, however the season storyline really frustrated, and to me it went nowhere!, however that being said i had no other problems with this game!, plus i always love it when i run into the wrestlers backstage to see what they have to say!. This is another fantastic Smackdown game, that's extremely enjoyable to play, only problem is the season storyline's kinda suck, however if you have a PS 2 I say this is a must see. ***** out of 5
