Storyline

In the 1800's there was a woman that little children would take their old teeth (ones they had recently lost) to in exchange for a gold coin. A few years later, tragedy struck her, first a fire in her house which caused her to not be able to go into any type of light, and then she was hanged. There's a story that goes around the town of Darkness Falls about her, and she's called the Tooth Fairy. The story goes that she can't go in the light, and if you wake up and see her, she'll kill you. The usual saying is "Don't Peek." Well, there is a boy named Kyle who gets a warning from his friend Caitlin to not peek. Well, he wakes up on the night when the Tooth Fairy is supposed to come and get his last tooth and sees her. It all leads to more tragedy and the movie jumps to 12 years later. Now grown up, Caitlin calls Kyle because her little brother Michael is going through the same things he did as a boy, and wants his help. Kyle goes back to Darkness Falls to face his past, and the woman in... Written by crazie_8zangel@hotmail.com

Trivia

In a version of the film, the creature only appears in the final act. The studio was not satisfied by this, so they brought Stan Winston in to create a new Tooth Fairy that would be seen throughout the film. The original design (by Steve Wang) bears no resemblance to the new version, although it is the basis for the McFarlane Toys figure released in 2002. See more »

Goofs

Quotes

[first lines]
Narrator: It is said that over 150 years ago, in the town of Darkness Falls, Matilda Dixon was adored by all the children. Whenever they would lose a tooth they would bring it to her in exchange for a gold coin, earning her the name, the Toothfairy. But fate was not kind to Matilda. One night fire tore through her home leaving her face horribly scarred. Matilda's burned flesh was so sensitive to light she could only go out at night, always wearing a porcelain mask so no one could ever look ...

I deemed this movie Mystery Science Theater 3000 worthy

Does the word "crap" mean anything to you? Let's start from the beginning The intro was amusing, slightly chilling and could almost be considered well made, but this is not apparent in the rest of the film.

I jumped twice throughout the whole film: once when young Cat Green poked her head in Kyle Walsh's window and when Kyle actually sees to "Toothy Fairy". That was it. Otherwise, I was commenting to my friends about continuity errors and the utter predictableness of the entire film. Or I was laughing my ass off especially towards the end when it got all "dramatic". The acting is stale, very stale, bread sitting in the open air for two weeks stale. Now I like Emma Caulfield (Cat Green). She's very good as Anya on the show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. But outside of her BTVS role, she can't act. (Sorry Emma! I still love you!). The little boy Michael was pretty creepy. Kinda like the kid in the Sixth Sense but it was dragged down because of the crappiness of Darkness Falls. And that's my other gripe: the title. The name of the town is maybe said once or twice, not convincing enough for a decent title. "The Evil Vengeful Pissed-off Toothy Fairy Who Looks Like Jason" would've been better. The "dramatic" music in the wrong places pissed me off too. Dramatic music should be played when there is a DRAMATIC SCENE! Not a bunch of people who can act for crap wandering about boiler rooms, forests, and insane asylums. I could hear the Crocodile Hunter in the back of my mind saying,"Oi! Now today we're going to go into the town of Darkness Falls to find some decent acting! Croiky!" As I left the theater, I thought, "If Mystery Science Theater were still filming, this would be a movie featured on there in about five years." So if you want a film to watch with your two best friends and ridicule the hell out of it together, this is the film to see
